Upon suffering a serious knee injury, Feldenkrais was faced with a 50 percent chance for recovery and possible long-term confinement to a wheelchair. The Feldenkrais method relies on the plasticity of the nervous system, and it supposes that when given choices, body and brain will select that which is more useful and beneficial. As a manual therapist, I am continually inspired by the Feldenkrais Method and its ability to both reveal our own physical habits, and reorient us to new and better possibilities.
